Darcy Rose Byrnes - Daddy's Girl

In keeping with the grand “Hollywood” tradition set by Ozzie and Harriet Nelson back in the 1950’s it was almost a foregone conclusion that Darcy Rose Byrnes, born way back in 1998 to two working actors C. J. and Cathy D’Arcy Byrnes, would grow up to be an actress. Indeed Darcy Rose Byrnes got some work as an infant but it wasn’t until she reached the age of 3 that Darcy became truly inspired. Darcy was at home with mom and dad watching a video on the television. In fact they were watching Darcy’s dad on TV acting in a short film when suddenly dad uttered a bad word. After the initial shock and a moment of thought Darcy announced: “When I grow up I want to make movies so I can say bad words on TV like my daddy.”

From that moment of theatrical awakening Darcy quickly moved into to her first stage performance as Sandy the dog in a local production of Annie. But from that humble beginning Darcy absolutely has not had a “hard knock life.”

Darcy Rose Byrnes moved rapidly into major television productions including one episode of Cold Case, one episode of Brother & Sisters and multiple recurring appearances on both The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. Her character for both soap operas was Abby Carlton. She also made several appearances on How I met Your Mother as Lucy Zinman as well as Kiki George on Dirty Sexy Money. And as if that weren’t enough she is also involved in two different feature films to be released either later this year or in 2011. For the true devotee you may see all of Darcy’s professional acting credits at www.imdb.com. Keep in mind that this talented young lady is still only 11 years old.

Until just recently when she switched to home schooling, Darcy was a student at Burbank’s George Washington middle school where she was just another beautiful and talented youngster. That she was in fact a well established television and film actress had no apparent effect on her living a normal pre teen life. But off campus things are not always as reasonable and calm.

On a recent trip to Disneyland she was asked for her autograph. That alone would not have been much of a big deal for veteran actress Darcy Rose Byrnes but where the request was made was, shall we say, odd. You see Darcy was in the ladies room when all at once a piece of paper was passed under the partition and a voice from the adjacent stall said, “May I have your autograph?” A bit flustered Darcy just said, “Sure, but please wait a minute.” Most of us never have to deal with stuff like that at Disneyland. It was a good thing it was just an autograph seeker and not some bizarre U. S. Senator.

Darcy is lovely and charming and armed with a quick and bright smile. She has clearly set a positive course for herself in the world of acting. With the continuing support of her devoted parents her future looks very bright indeed. Break a leg Darcy!
